Recent letter from Twilio founder Jeff Lawson is a good example of crisis communication and behavior I would expect to see from a true leader. It also makes me incrementally more confident that Lawson is still the right person to run the company. Last week Twilio announced a layoff of 11% of their labor force. This was not a big shock to anyone who has been following growth tech space in general and Twilio in particular.
He's taking responsibility? How? Is he resigning? Taking a pay cut? If I were "impacted", I would be disgusted by this letter.
